When I started designing the SPEC-282, every off-the-shelf extrusion felt like a compromise. The finishes were inconsistent, the tolerances sloppy, easily scratched. They looked like construction hardware — not something worthy of your setup. So we made our own.

Mixing extrusions with different slot depths is a nightmare — bolts fit on one piece, then rattle loose on the next. It turns a simple build into a tedious chore. That’s why every SPEC 40-series profile shares the same groove depth, so one bolt and one slider nut work everywhere.

After months of fine-tuning, we landed on this matte anodized finish — a texture that’s colorful yet low-glare, blending into interiors naturally.
