Every color we anodize varies a little from run to run. Now and then we release parts from an earlier run here, at a lower price. Every part works perfectly.
Color is anodized into the metal.
Three things make one run differ from the next.
Every rack is done by hand
Each profile is racked by hand and held in the tank. Immersion time, liquid and temperature shift from rack to rack, so no two racks come out identical.
Bright colors show it most
Most of our colors are mixed rather than drawn from one fixed bath. A profile's shape changes how it takes the color, and the brighter the color, the more the difference shows.
Time keeps working on the surface
Oxygen and moisture shift an anodized surface slightly over the years. An early run reads a little differently from last month's, and neither one is wrong.

So how different is it, really?
Out of the box
Once assembled
More visible out of the box. Far less noticeable once assembled.
Owners add to a rig over time, a bracket here, a plate there. That leaves a warehouse holding parts from different runs, which is why they are sold here as their own batch.
Better you see it here, with time to decide, than for the first time on your desk.
